Hazardous Atmospheres
A hazardous atmosphere has the potential for fire or explosion from dust,
gases and vapours. In hazardous atmospheres take the following precau-
tions:
Only use approved Intrinsically Safe (IS) radios, batteries and other
accessories. Refer to the service manual for a list of approved items.
Do not use battery chargers in hazardous atmospheres.
Turn off and do not use non-approved radios.
Only use IS batteries with IS radios.
Do not use damaged or cracked radios.
Do not modify IS radios.
Use an agency authorised by Tait and Factory Mutual for all radio servi-
cing and repairs.
