6) Place a Single Barrel Nut (Z) in the hole in the bottom of the Foot (J). NOTE: THE SLOTTED END
OF THE BARREL NUT (Z) IS PARALLEL TO THE THREADED HOLE IN THE BARREL NUT. THIS
ALLOWS YOU TO CONTROL THE DIRECTION OF THE HOLE USING A STANDARD SCREW-
DRIVER. Use a standard/slotted screwdriver to align the slot in the nut.
While holding a Washer (T) over a hole in the Ring Sleeve (U), insert a Hex Bolt (S) through the hole
and tighten onto the barrel nut.
Repeat for the other four feet.
7) Center the Star Plate (W) on the bottom of the pedestal as shown in FIGURE 7. Mark the location
of the screw holes and punch on these marks with a nail or drill 1/4" deep with a 1/8" drill bit. In-
sert #10 x 3/4" Pan Head Screws (R). Tighten the fi ve center screws fi rst, then tighten the outside
screws.
FIG. 8
8) Insert the Gas Cylinder (II) into the Pedestal (GG). The lip on the cylinder may not sit fl ush against
the top of the pedestal. With a 1/8" drill bit, drill pilot holes 3/4" deep through the holes in the gas
cylinder lip into the Pedestal. Insert #10 x 1¼" Black Pan Head Screws (Q) through the gas cylinder
into the pedestal and fasten securely. This will draw the lip fl ush against the pedestal.
9) Turn the seat assembly upside down on a clean protected surface so as not to mar the seat and
locate the attachment holes. Turn the Tilter Mechanism (H) upside down placing it on the seat bot-
tom with the adjustment knob facing the front of the chair, as shown in FIGURE 9. Make sure that
the four small screw holes in the tilter match those in the bottom of the seat. Screw the mechanism
in place with four #14 x 1" Pan Head Screws (Y).
