CAUTION
• The Miami Lumbar with anterior and/or posterior thoracic extension(s) is a supportive brace only and is not
intended or guaranteed to prevent spinal injury. It should be applied by a licensed healthcare practitioner and
as directed by a physician or other qualified medical authority. Össur accepts no responsibility for any injury
which might occur while using the orthosis.
• Do not over tighten the compression system to the point where it causes discomfort or difficulty breathing. For
sitting, the patient may find it desirable to slightly loosen the compression system.
• If brace causes discomfort or irritation, contact your healthcare provider for further instructions.

SIZE SELECTION

The thoracic attachments are size adjustable and compatible with all sizes of the Miami Lumbar. Please see the
Miami Lumbar Instructions for Use to determine the correct size belt to be used in your application.
BRACE ASSEMBLY
1. Size the Miami Lumbar belt according to the Miami Lumbar Instructions for Use.
2. In advance of applying the PTE, remove the top portion of the padded cover from the posterior panel to expose
the two holes labeled "PTE". Starting from the outside of the panel, insert the two black posts and secure with
the PTE screws (applied from the inside of the panel).
(NOTE: The screws may have shipped already inserted in the post. Remove screw first if necessary).
Tighten with the provided silver allen wrench (Fig. 1).
3. To attach the posterior panel to the belt, thread the yellow attachment strap through the "H" shaped slot on the
posterior panel (Fig. 2). For different panel-belt attachment types and methods, please refer to QRC 0038,
supplied as an insert along with this manual.
4. The TLSO product is supplied with the Pectoral/Axillary Strap configuration (Fig. 3). Other brace configurations
