2) Turn the key further into position 2, and
when engine has started, release.
N.B.: When engine is running, leave the
ignition key in position 1 in order to allow the
battery recharge. When engine is switched
off, turn the key in rest position 0 in order to
avoid battery discharge.
ATTENTION - In order to start the engine
manually, the ignition key must be inserted
and turned into the first click.
BATTERY
For best battery performance, carry out the
following operations:
- Check the electrolyte level often; this must
be done with engine switched off, machine
on a flat surface and battery at rest.
- If necessary, top up with distilled water; the
fluid must cover the vertical plates in each
battery compartment.
LUBRICATION (Fig. 17)
TYPE OF LUBRICANT
Engine: see engine manual.
Motorcultivator: use only ESSO UNIFARM
15-40 W oil and ESSO MULTIPURPOSE
grease.
1) ENGINE
Every day:
check level and top up if necessary.
Oil replacement: to be carried out according
to intervals and methods set out by the engi-
ne manufacturer.
2) GEARBOX (capacity 1,8 Kg)
Every 20 hours:
ATTENTION - The electrolyte inside the
battery is formed of diluted sulphuric acid
which can cause burns. Avoid contact with
the skin and clothing.
- If the battery needs refilling too often, apply
to a specialised workhouse.
- Check that the battery terminal cables be
well connected to the battery poles; always
use wrenches (and never pliers) to screw or
unscrew the terminal nuts.
- After having connected the terminals, smear
with Vaseline.
- Keep the battery dry and clean, especially
at the top.
- During brief stops leave engine running; fre-
quent start-ups need a considerable amount
of current delivery.
- Never discharge the battery completely. If
the machine is to remain unused for more
than two months, it is best remove the bat-
tery and store it in a dry place and recharge
regularly.
Only for 60 cm. rotary hoe
check level and top up if necessary.
Every 500 hours: replace oil.
3) POWER TAKE-OFF FOR IMPLEMENTS
Before attaching Implements, fill up with
Multipurpose grease.
4) ROTARY HOE BOX
cm. 60, capacity 0,.35 Lt - cm. 65-70, ca-
pacity 0,5 It.
Every 20 hours: check level and, if neces-
sary, top up through the clearance hole close
to screw A.
Make sure to reassemble the screw together
with aluminium washer B in order to guaran-
tee tightness.
Every 500 hours: replace oil.
