Handle Adjustment for all Extension Kits
• • Removal and reinsertion of flapper/handle
requires tilting the flapper/handle back 45°,
parallel to and against the direction of flow.
• • Contact between the seated plug and Tee
must be avoided.
Clearance between the
"Tee" and seated plug should be no more
than 1/8" .
• • "Tee" height can be adjusted. With
the handle/flapper in position and plug
removed, lay a straight-edge across the
threaded adapter rim and measure gap
between straight-edge and top of Tee.
Adjust gap by threading in or out. Lock
with threaded collar.

• • Installation of standard pre-made extension kits requires correct
trench/box depth. Minimum depth = Kit Height + Dimension "I" from
Table 1, below.
• • A 2% slope (1/4" drop over 12" span) must be maintained for proper
flow & valve function.
WARNING:
ALL AIR MUST BE BLED FROM THE SYSTEM DURING INITIAL
FLUID FILL. PRESSURE TESTING OF THE SYSTEM SHOULD NOT BE
MADE UNTIL ALL SOLVENT CEMENT JOINTS HAVE PROPERLY CURED.
INITIAL PRESSURE TESTING SHOULD BE MADE AT APPROXIMATELY
10% OF THE SYSTEM HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE RATING TO IDENTIFY
POTENTIAL PROBLEMS, PRIOR TO TESTING AT HIGHER PRESSURES.
WARNING:
SYSTEMS SHOULD NOT BE OPERATED OR FLUSHED
OUT AT FLOW VELOCITIES GREATER THAN 5 FEET PER SECOND.
