Dust exhaust
To ensure suction, put the hose of a
PROTOOL vacuum cleaner class L, M or H
into the suction adapter [1-2].
Warning: Always work with the suction
connected. Use exclusively antistatic vacu-
um cleaners to prevent discharges of static
electricity in dusty environments.

Commencement of
operation
Set the sliding stop for cut depth [1-5] on
scale [1-7] (top edge of the stop) to the re-
quested depth of the cut – loosen and tight-
en the stop screw [1-6] as necessary.
The cut depth scale is valid for cutting with-
out a bar.
The scale is for orientation only. The actual
depth of the cut may be affected by, for
example, manufacturing tolerances or the
wear of the diamond disc's segment. If en
exact depth is required, it is necessary to
measure the actual depth on a test cut.
One hand controls the grinder [2-1] within
the reach of the switch button, the other
hand is put on the additional handle [2-2],
screwed into the threaded opening [1-13]
– thus you can easily reach the arresting
button [1-1] – Fig. [2 a]. The back side of
the disc cover can be used instead of the
additional handle.
The grinder is operated according to the
respective instructions for use.
Push the arresting button [1-1] and slowly
cut the disc into the workpiece, release the
arresting button. Cut in as long as the catch
arrest [1-8] gets over the sliding stop.
9.1 End of operation
After completing the cut, push the arresting
button [1-1] – the machine is thus released
from the working status.
Start putting up the grinder while the disc
is still rotating Release the arresting but-
ton [1-1] but go on putting the grinder up
– the control spring will facilitate the move-
ment – until you get to the top position, in
which the machine will arrest itself auto-
matically.
Switch of the grinder according to its in-
structions for use.

9.2 Aperture cover
If you wish to see the cutting area, take off
the aperture cover [1-3]. Only handle this
cover when the disc is not running.
Be careful about spattering dust particles.
10 Guide system PROTOOL
Fig. [3]
WARNING
Only use discs of thickness up to
3 mm!
Use the guide bar [3-1] for accurate cuts.
The side clearance of the disc guiding can
be set with the aid of the adjusting screws
[1-15].
Guide bars (GRP 800/1400/3000-2)
On the bottom face of the guide bar there
are anti-skid strips, which ensure safe
contact and prevent the workpiece from
scratching.
The bar can also be secured with the aid of
special clamps CL-GRP 300 [3-2], pushed
into the special guide grooves – Fig. [3 a].
Safe guiding on uneven surfaces is thus
enabled.
WARNING
The guide bars are equipped with burr
protector, which must be cut off be-
fore the fi rst use.
Connector (CN-GRP)
Depending on the particular application and
the workpiece size, several guide bars can
be connected with the aid of a connector
spring [3-3] – Fig. [3 b]. Fast connection of
guide bars can be secured by screws in the
threaded openings.
11 Maintenance
- A packed machine can be stored in a dry
unheated warehouse if the temperature
does not fall below −5 °C. An unpacked
machine should be stored in a dry closed
warehouse in which the temperature does
not fall below +5 °C and sharp tempera-
ture changes are prevented.
