Regular checks
- Check all the connector cables and plug-in connectors for
mechanical damage and corrosion
- Check the grounding resistance of the complete system in
accordance with regional regulations
- Contamination of the modules
- Condition of the installation system
Grounding continuity may not be interrupted
while routinely checking the installation!
Bypass diodes
Partial shading of a series of solar cells causes hot spots and
also leads to a dramatic reduction in power output. For safety
and also to mitigate the effects of partial shade on the modules,
bypass diodes in parallel with the solar cells are included in the
junction box of each module.
The diodes are installed and checked at the factory.
The bypass diodes minimize the effects of partial shading,
however even a small amount of shade still has the potential of
a significant decrease in system performance, so it is important
for the installer to quantify any shade on the modules and
understand the effect it will have before installing the modules.
Disposal
Dispose of the packaging in accordance
with the relevant legal and technical
regulations.

DANGER
Maintenance
Schüco modules are designed for long life and require very
little maintenance. Under most weather conditions, normal
rainfall is sufficient to keep the module glass surface clean. If
dirt build-up becomes excessive, clean the glass surface only
with a soft cloth using mild detergent and water.
Use caution when cleaning the back surface
of the module to avoid penetrating the PVF
sheet!
Modules that are mounted relatively flat (less than 7° tilt angle)
should be cleaned more often, as they will not "self clean"
as effectively as modules mounted at a 15° tilt or greater.
Once a year, check the tightness of mounting hardware and
the general condition of the wiring. Loose attachements can
result in damage to the PV Array and serious injury to people
or property.
If the module becomes dirty, it can be
cleaned with water and a sponge.
Do not step on the module.
