Spring-Loaded Cabinet & Drawer Latches
48447, 48392, HS205, HS220 User Guide
WARNING:

CABINET

1" (2.5 cm)
Position catch on frame 1 inch
(2.5 cm) away from side of
cabinet as shown in Figure 1 (or
from center frame of cabinet
shown in image above) with
curved edge facing out.

Mark screw hole positions with
pencil.

Pre-drill screw holes for catch
3/8 inch (0.9 cm) deep. We
recommend using a 7/64 drill bit.
Be careful not to drill through
cabinet door.
Quick tip:
with a piece of electrical tape to
3/8" (0.9 cm)
correct depth of 3/8 inch (0.9
cm).

Screw in catch by hand using a
Phillips head screwdriver.
DO NOT fully tighten screws.
Leave gap between catch and
cabinet frame for template use.

Remove adhesive cover from
back of template. Slide template
onto catch.

Close cabinet door until contact
with adhesive is made. Open
door and ensure template
adhesive has stuck.

Use pencil to mark through
template, noting latch screw
locations. Remove template.
Tighten catch screws.
Pre-drill screw holes for latch

3/8 inch (0.9 cm) deep. We
recommend using a 7/64 drill bit.
Be careful not to drill through
cabinet door.
Quick tip:
with a piece of electrical tape to
correct depth of 3/8 inch (0.9

Position latch slots centered over
pre-drilled holes. Screw in latch
by hand using a Phillips head
screwdriver.
When closing door, if the latch

does not engage the catch,
loosen screws and adjust the
latch up or down until latch
engages. Re-tighten screws.
Use the third screw at the
bottom, center of the latch.

latch does not securely hold
the door or drawer when
tugged, adjust the latch
height to obtain a secure
connection.
Discontinue use when your
child becomes old enough
to defeat it. Your child
will eventually be able to
defeat this product. To keep
this product effective for
as long as possible, avoid
letting children see how you
operate child safety devices.
Watching you disengage a
lock, latch or cover could
enable them to learn sooner
how to defeat it.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

• Keep these instructions for future use.
• Remove all contents from packaging and discard box, and/or poly bags.
• Lay out and identify all parts.

TOOLS NEEDED:
• Phillips head screwdriver
• Pencil
• Short handled screwdriver
• Drill with 7/64" sized drill bit (if you have room to use it). NOTE: If drill is too large
you can use extra force to manually tighten the screws with screwdriver (skip steps
about pre-drilling).
NOTE: Latch may be difficult to access if used
on a top drawer that has a counter top with
a 1" overhang. If latch is difficult to access,
insert a rounded object to depress latch.
DRAWER
NOTE: Remove drawer if possible
for easier installation.
Position catch on upper frame
at center of drawer space with
curved edge facing out.
Mark screw hole positions with
pencil.
Pre-drill screw holes for catch
3/8 inch (0.9 cm) deep. We
recommend using a 7/64 drill bit.
Be careful not to drill through
drawer.
Quick tip:
Mark your drill-bit

TO USE
When drawer is opened 1.5" the latch will engage
catch. Press down on latch with finger to open.
Latch may be difficult to access if used on a top
drawer that has a countertop with a 1" overhang. If
latch is difficult to access, insert a rounded object
to depress latch.
TO CLEAN
Wipe clean. Keep lock dry.
