What to do in the following cases :
• I cannot open the portafilter
Handpresso Auto Capsule works at a pressure of approx. 19 bar. In order to avoid injuries or
damage to the product due to the pressure, a safety device prevents you from opening the
portafilter if the machine is under pressure.
As long as the orange safety indicator is visible, the machine is still under pressure. In order to open
the portafilter, press the STOP button so the orange safety indicator disappears.
• I cannot close the portafilter
There is only one position in which the portafilter can be closed so that the portafilter and the
machine are aligned once closed. Try again by screwing the portafilter so that the locking indicators
(white lines) are aligned.
• The machine does not start

machine are lit up when they are properly connected.

run

others to be drilled. If nothing happens after a few seconds, press the STOP button till the orange
safety indicator disappears, unplug the machine, remove the capsule and try again with another
capsule.

• The water drips from the portafilter during the brewing
a) Check the presence and the position of the capsule O-ring in the capsule holder. Replace the
O-ring if it is not there or if it is faulty (dry, cracked, damaged or cut). You can get one from your
retailer.
b) Make sure to close the portafilter properly, the locking indicators (white lines) have to be aligned
(go back to step 7 in the instructions).
• My espresso is cold
Wait until you hear 3 bleeps and see the display tell you to push the Espresso button before flipping
the machine around and press the Espresso button.
• The water level indicator does not work despite a correct filling.
Very low water minerality can alter the functioning of the water level reading system.
Do not use demineralised water.
We advise you to use water with a dry residue higher than 50mg /L.
