2. Important safety information
WARNING
Danger of electric shock and fire caused by short circuit or malfunction.
A short circuit may be caused by defective cables or mositure. In case of a
short-circuit the cable wires may heat up to such an extent, that the insula-
tion or even the wires themselves will melt. This may cause fire.
■ Do not operate the device with wet hands or feet.
■ Clean the equipment only in the way described in the instructions for use.
■ Take care to prevent the equipment from dropping down.
If the device has dropped down on the floor have it inspected by a
skilled electrician before you switch it on again.
■ Should the equipment be damaged or defective, or if you notice a
scorching smell:
Immediately interrupt the electric power supply by disconnecting the
connection to the Power Porta/rechargeable batteries. Do not operate
the device with a damaged housing, do not repair the device yourself.
Have the device only repaired by a skilled electrician
■ Always keep your device in good condition, as specified in these
instructions for use.
■ Do not open the device.
WARNING
Damage to eyes, retina damage
■ Do not light/flash directly into the eyes from a short distance, this could
damage the eyes. Keep a safety distance of at least 2 m.
■ When taking photos, filming little children and babies keep a sufficient
minimum distance of 2 m. Use the diffuser to reduce the luminous
intensity.
WARNING
Danger of suffocation caused by small parts
Keep the device and packaging away from children and pets.

Danger of cutting and splintering caused by a breaking or bursting
flash tube.
Even smallest residues of skin grease on the flash tube can cause bursting
of the flash tube because of the strong development of heat during operati-
on. Glass splinters can cause eye and skin injuries.
■ Handle the flash tube with care, to prevent the glass from breaking.
■ Do not touch the flash tube with bare hands. Wear clean cotton gloves
or use a clean cloth.
■ Make sure you do not touch the flash tube by accident when mounting
or replacing accessories.
WARNING
Danger of fire caused by hot parts of the equipment
The flash with accessories becomes hot during use. Easily inflammable
materials may start fire if they get too close to a hot part of the equipment.
■ Do not lay the equipment and its accessories on easily inflammable
materials.
■ Remove easily inflammable materials from the vicinity of the equipment.
WARNING
Danger of burning on hot equipment parts
Flash tube, reflector and accessories may become extremely hot.
■ Do not touch these parts during use and while the unit is cooling down.
■ Allow the unit to cool down for approx. 30 minutes, before starting
assembly or repair measures.
