6. Operating Instructions

Set the rotary switch to the selected range prior measuring. In case of changing
the function or range please remove the test leads (or the clamp) from any source
of voltage.
For DC measurements, turn the zero adjusting wheel until the meter indicates "0".
Due to the hysteresis effect, it may happen that sometimes the zero point cannot
accurately been set. In this case, open and close the clamp several times.
DC current measurement / AC Current measurement
Note: Always measure current on one conductor only.
Covering more than one conductor results in measuring differential current
(like identifying leakage current). To avoid measuring errors related to other
hot conductors, please observe maximum phase-to-phase clearance.
1.
Always adjust the rotary switch to the desired measuring range before
starting the measurement and engage the switch in the proper measuring
range. If the magnitude of the signal to be measured is not known, always
start with the highest measuring range on the rotary switch and then reduce
step-by-step.( 40 A / 400 A).
2.
For current measurements up to 40 A, set the rotary switch on the adapter
clamp to the 40A position, the multimeter to the 400mV or 600mV range and
connect the banana plug of red test lead to the V jack.
