FIAP TrommelSieve Active
Before service and servicing switch off the machine and make sure that the current supply is
interrupted (safety switch / conduction interrupter, barred). Service and servicing are to be explained
only by authorised staff.
In this manual appear the following warning markings:

The non-observance of this information can entail personal damages or damages in the equipment!
Machine marking CE
This equipment is CE-certificated, see following signs.
Thereby it is made sure that the equipment constructs the EU 9837 / the EU (AFS 1994:48) according
to the machine guideline, is made and is described.
Rebuilding - CE
The CE marking does not count to components which are used with new construction or rebuilding and
were not checked from FIAP GmbH.
Warnings and CE marking must be appropriated fully obviously. If a part of the equipment with a
warning right on it is substituted with a spare part, a new sign must be appropriated at the same place.
Damaged signs and CE markings must be immediately substituted. With rebuilding of the equipment it
is of extreme importance to adapt this manual immediately or to complement and to provide with the
necessary photos describing the changes, pictures and texts.
Personnel requirements
To avoid / prevent injuries or personal damage, service and servicing must be carried out by the
employees who are trained according to operating instructions. The service staff and maintenance staff
may use only the parts of the equipment for which it is trained.
Switch off
By disconnecting the power plug or choosing mode "Aus/Off"

Security instructions

Electric installations are to be carried out by the electrician according to local regulations. Check
rotation direction!
Current switch off and block the counter, before works on the filter are begun.
The filter system is activated; while the chosen mode on the control panel is "HAND" or "AUTO".
The filter system is stopped, while disconnecting the power plug or choosing mode "Aus/Off".
An access to the filter is to be prevented for unauthorized. Installations in the undeveloped outskirt
area must be fenced in.
The drum filter system can start to rotate in the position "AUTO" without advance warning.

Filter system always pursue with closed lid.
Don't touch any rotary parts and climb not on the filter system if this is activated.
The injuries which can be caused by the rotary filter system are thereby avoided.

Intended applications of the filter
The main task of the FIAP TrommelSieve Active Drum Filter Module is to remove coarse dirt particles.
Screens (60 μm) separate all types of dirt particles before the water reaches the filter biology. By
separating the suspended solids, the filter removes most of the nutrient matter from the water. In this
way, the Drum Filter Module performs an important role in enhancing the biological filtration in the
following modules with biological filtering. The control system with integrated microcontroller system
automatically controls filtration process. The automatic self-cleaning function can be individually
adjusted to meet the requirements.
FIAP TrommelSieve Active Filter Module, and all other parts from the delivery scope may be used
exclusively as follows:
 For cleaning garden ponds.
 Operation under observance of the technical data
The following restrictions apply to the device:
Only operate with water at a water temperature of min. +8 °C to max. +35 °C.
Never use the unit to convey fluids other than water.
Do not use for commercial or industrial purposes.
Not suitable for salt water.
Never run the unit without water.
Do not use in conjunction with chemicals, foodstuff, easily flammable or explosive substances.
Not intended application of the filter
Don't use the filter system without special written approval by FIAP Aquaculture to the filtration of other
liquids than water. The filter system may not be installed on places with danger of explosion, for
example, with high interest by dust.

Installation options

Pump fed system
The filter system can be installed above the water level of the pond. A filter pump pumps the dirty pond
water out of the pond into the filter system. The clean water is returned to the pond through a pipe via
gravity.
