Switching the appliance ON/OFF
The appliance is not equipped with an on/
off switch. The appliance is in operation
when the mains plug is plugged in.
Using the appliance
To make sandwiches with the appliance,
proceed as follows:
Fold the lid (6) downwards.
Insert the plug into a mains socket.
The red power indicator (2) lights up
and the appliance starts heating. This
can take a few minutes.
NOTE

In the mean time, prepare your sand-
wiches and then fill to taste, e. g.,
with salami and cheese.

Do not use too much cheese. Melted
cheese can ooze out of the sides of
the sandwiches.
Wait until the green temperature indi-
cator lamp (3) lights up.
Open the lid (6) of the appliance and
lay the prepared sandwiches onto the
lower hotplate.
Slowly press the lid (6) downwards
and fold down the lid locking latch (5).
Check the browning of the sandwich
intermittently by briefly opening the lid
(6). Depending on the filling, this will
take between 4 and 6 minutes.
Open the lid (6) and remove the fin-
ished sandwiches with a wooden or
heat-proof spatula.

If you wish to prepare further sand-
wiches, wait until the green tempera-
ture indicator lamp (3) has extin-
guished. The appliance then has the
ideal temperature.
After using
Clean the appliance and the accesso-
ries used as described in the section
Cleaning and care (page 18).
Cleaning and maintenance
Before beginning work, pay attention to
the safety instructions in the section on
safety (section 11)!

The appliance must be cleaned after
each use.

After using, clean the appliance as
soon as it has cooled down. Waiting
too long makes cleaning unnecessarily
difficult.

Leftovers that stick to the the hotplates
can burn into the coating if not re-
moved correctly
Cleaning the appliance
Switch off the appliance and pull the
plug out of the mains socket.
Allow the appliance to cool down com-
pletely.
Wipe the hotplates with damp cloth or
sponge and a little washing-up liquid
and then with a damp cloth without
washing-up liquid.
Wipe the outside and inside of the
housing of the appliance (1) with a
lightly damp cloth.
