Specific conditions of use:
• Before entering the hazardous location the device shall be inspected for signs of
damage on the enclosure.
• If damage is visible do not use the device in the hazardous location until it is repaired
by an authorized service centre.
• The device enclosure is tested against the low impact energy for Group II and III.
• The device must be protected from excessive UV light exposure.
• Before entering the hazardous location the conductive coating on the Ex-protective
case shall be inspected.
• If the coating is removed or damaged for more than 2000mm² (~50mm diameter,
contiguous) the rear cover must be withdrawn from use in the hazardous locations.
Safety instructions:
• The Battery-Cover (Samsung back cover) must be correctly fitted before entering the
hazardous location.
• Before entering the hazardous location the Ex-protective case must be employed on
the rear side of the device.
• The additional protective LCD glass pane shall never be removed and is only allowed
to be replaced by an authorized service centre.
• The device shall not be used in close proximity to processes producing high electros-
tatic charges.
• Battery pack or SD/SIM-Card replacement is only allowed in ordinary (non-hazardous)
locations.
• Charging and wired data connection via USB and POGO port (Keyboard dock port) is
only allowed in ordinary (non-hazardous) locations.
• The device may only be charged in a temperature range of -5°C – 55 °C.
• It must be ensured that the power plug used fulfils SELV or PELV requirements with an
Um of 10V.
• This applies also to power supplies used in data communication systems e.g. PC
• The device shall not be repaired or dismantled (except the Battery-Cover in ordinary
locations).
• Follow the instructions of the respective Control Drawing.
• Intrinsically safe audio accessory certified for use in hazardous locations must match
with the entity parameter of the earphone jack.
Repair:
Repairs are to be conducted by the manufacturer or an authorized service centre.
