Positioning it
If your outboard is stationary for a period of time or anchored in shallow water, it should
be tilted upwards to protect the propeller and transmission case, avoiding collision damage and
reducing corrosion.
ATTENTION:
•
Make sure that people around you are at a safe distance from the engine to prevent
accidents.
•
Make sure that the fuel tank cap breather valve is tightly closed, and that the fuel cock is
in the "closed" position if the engine is tilted to prevent leaks.
•
Do not push the engine through the rudder lever as it may damage the internal
components.
Tilting it up
1. Set the lever to the NEUTRAL position..
2. Tighten the steering friction regulator by turning clockwise to prevent the engine from
spinning freely..
