3. Loosen the steering friction adjustment by turning counterclockwise, and adjust steering
friction according to operator preference (See according to your engine model).
ATTENTION
If there is too much resistance, it can make it difficult to guide and can cause an accident.
SAILING IN SHALLOW WATERS
To use the outboard in shallow water, this should be used partially elevated.
WARNING
The cooling water intake hole should not be above the surface line of the river / sea water when
navigating shallow water. Otherwise, severe damage may occur due to engine overheating
SAILING IN SALTED WATERS
After using the outboard in salt water, flush the water passage for cooling with fresh water to
prevent the accumulation of salt deposits.
SAFETY AND SOLUTIONS
Some outboard models are equipped with engine oil level pressure alerts and cooling water
temperature. If the oil pressure becomes too low (insufficient oil in the engine) when the engine
is running at speeds above 2200 rpm, the oil pressure warning will be triggered, causing the
engine to enter safe mode, which limits the speed of rotation of the motor. If this happens, switch
off the engine as soon as possible, provided it is safe to do so, and check the oil level.
NOTE
Check the oil level. Add if level is low or drain case high.
1.
2. If the oil level is within limits and the oil level warning remains on, take your outboard
to TOYAMA.
If the water temperature is too high when the engine is above 2200 rpm and remains so for
more than 20 seconds, the water temperature warning will be triggered. The engine will enter
protection mode, limiting the engine speed until it cools down and returns to normal use and
remains in this status for at least 10 seconds;
