2. Use a suitable reservoir to catch the engine oil. Its capacity must be sufficient to contain
the full volume of oil (check engine specification). Loosen the cap bolt (see photo per
engine model) and remove it while holding the reservoir below the drain. Then remove
the oil tank cap. Allow all the oil to flow into the reservoir. Clean immediately in case of
spillage.
3. Insert a new O-ring into the drain plug. Tighten the plug
4. Add the recommended amount of oil (check engine specification). Install and tighten the
oil tank cap. Use SAE 10W30 or 10W40 oil.
5. From start to engine and check for oil leakage
6. Switch off the engine and wait for at least 3 minutes. Check the oil level again using the
dipstick. The level should be between the upper and lower limits.
ATTENTION !The oil should be changed more frequently when the outboard is used under severe
conditions and constant and constant acceleration.
WIRING VERIFICATION AND CONNECTORS
Check that each grounding wire is properly secured and that each connector is securely
connected.
CHECK FOR LEAKS
Check that there are no leaks or water leaks in the junctions between the exhaust cover, cylinder
head and cylinder body.
Check for oil leaks around the engine.
CHECKING THE PROPELLER
ATTENTION:
You can get seriously injured if the engine accidentally turns on when you are moving the
propeller or very close to it.
Before inspecting, removing or installing the propeller, remove the spark plug cap, set the
gear to Neutral (N), the main switch to OFF, and remove the key. Also, remove the emergency
stop cable from the emergency button and disconnect the battery
Do not use your hands to hold the propeller if you lose the propeller fixing screw. Place a
piece of wood between the anti-cavitation plate and the propeller as a way to prevent it from
rotating.
