SAFETY WARNINGS
• After unpacking, check the appliance is complete
and undamaged. In case of doubt, do not use the
appliance. Consult a qualified professional.
• This appliance is for domestic use only. Any other
use is considered as improper and therefore
hazardous.
• When the appliance is in use, avoid touching hot
surfaces.
• Do not allow the appliance to be used by children
or unfit persons (danger of burns).
• The parts which could come into contact with cof-
fee or milk conform to the provisions of the EEC
directive 89/109 relating to materials suitable for
contact with foodstuffs.
INSTALLATION
• Place the appliance on a work top away from
taps and sinks.
• Check that the voltage corresponds to that indica-
ted on the appliance rating plate. The appliance
must always be connected to a well-earthed
socket rated at 10 A minimum. The manufacturer
is not liable for damage caused by inadequate
earthing of the appliance.
• In the event of incompatibility between the plug
socket and the plug on the appliance, have the
socket replaced with another of a suitable type by
qualified staff. In the event of damage to the
cable, contact only a Service Centre authorised
by the manufacturer, as a special tool is neces-
sary.
• Do not expose the machine to temperatures near
to or below 0°C (freezing may damage the
appliance.
CHLORINE FILTER
This filter removes the taste of chlorine from the water.
Install as follows:
• Remove the chlorine filter from its plastic bag and
rinse under the tap.
• Raise the coffee lid and lift out the filter holder
(fig. 1).
• Open the holder by pushing where indicated
PUSH and fit the filter carefully as shown in fig. 2.
• Close the holder and replace by pushing down
well.
• After 80 cycles or six months operation, the chlo-
rine filter must be changed. The filter is of vegeta-
ble origin and can therefore be discarded with
normal household rubbish.
