Additional preparation job:
– Remove left-hand tail light
Following parts are additionally required:

If the terminal point X10305 is no longer
provided behind the left-hand tail light on vehicles
as from production date 9/98, proceed as follows
before installing the auxiliary wiring harness:
Mark drilling point (1) with centre punch.
Dimension A = 28 mm
Dimension B = 22 mm
Remove vehicle paint and primer in grey area (2)
Ø 20 mm about the drilling point (1) at the front and
rear of the tail light cup (3). The sheet metal must
be bright in the grey area (2) so as to ensure good
contact.

Particular care must be taken before drilling
the hole to ensure that the cable and plug
connector fastenings are unclipped and the cables
are moved away from the drilling point (risk of
damage).
Drill 6 mm diameter hole. Remove metal chips
while drilling with vacuum cleaner.
Deburr hole.
