If the plasma arc has been disrupted and the torch button is pressed again, then the pilot
■
arc ignites again automatically for 3 seconds.
To switch off the plasma arc, release the torch button. Then the arc will switch off. To cool
■
the cutting torch and its wear parts, compressed air will continue to flow for another approx.
1 – 2 minutes. If the torch button is pressed again during this time, then the pilot arc is started
again.
CUTTING GRATING
To cut grating, press operating mode button A
on the machine control panel and select the operating mode Grating.
CAUTION!
Sparks which occur while cutting can damage coated surfaces as well as glass, plastic,
and metal surfaces.
OPERATING ERROR
When cutting, errors can occur which are not caused by a defect in the system, but by an
operating error:
INSUFFICIENT PENETRATION DEPTH:
■
- cutting speed too high
- the angle of the cutting torch is too big
- the workpiece is too thick; the cutting current is too small
- the wear parts are worn out
THE ARC FAILING:
■
- cutting speed too low
- distance between cutting torch and the workpiece is too large
- mains voltage is too low – output current reduced
- the wear pieces are worn out
SLAG BUILD-UP TOO GREAT:
■
- cutting speed too high (slag above)
- cutting speed too low (slag below)
- distance between cutting torch and the workpiece is too large
- the cutting current is too low
- the wear parts are worn out
- the earth cable is not connected to the workpiece
CUT NOT VERTICAL:
■
- incorrect torch positioning
- asymmetric wear of torch opening or incorrect installation of the torch parts
WEAR PARTS WORN TOO MUCH:
■
- air pressure too low
- system output capacity exceeded (material too thick)
- contaminated air (humidity, oil)
- cutting torch not placed on the workpiece
