using a Valiant Stove Thermometer, sold separately.)
The fan uses Peltier Technology (also known as the
Seebeck effect) to harness heat that generates electricity
which powers the fan. Warm air is pushed into the room
rather than simply rising to the ceiling or being trapped
around the stove. This improves the effectiveness of the
stove, maximising heat distribution around the room and
thereby ensuring fuel efficiency.
The fan uses intelligent design and will start to rotate at
approximately 50°C, build up speed; slowing and stopping
when the fire burns down and stove temperature cools.
SAFETY
• Stoves and fires can get HOT; your Valiant Vanquish
250 heat powered stove fan will get hot.
• The fan will draw attention so please ensure that any
vulnerable people or animals are kept away from the
stove and fan.
• If moving the fan, the base may be very hot, so please
wear heat-proof gloves.
• Do not place the fan on a delicate surface.
• The fan blades, whilst not dangerous, may cause
discomfort or harm if fingers are inserted into moving
rotating blades.
• Do not cause obstruction to the fan blades.
• Your fan is manufactured using heat resistant
materials, though some materials used in the
construction of the motor, wires and blades are
potentially vulnerable to extreme heat. Should your fan
stop operating correctly, remove it from the stove to a
safe surface.
OPERATION
• Carefully remove the product from its packaging. Before
placing your fan on the stove, check the blades freely
rotate.
• Retain the product packaging for reference and the safe
storage of the fan when not in use.
• Place your Valiant Vanquish 250 heat powered stove
fan as close as possible to the rear of the stove and
to the side of flue pipe. This will allow the fan to draw
cooler air through its blades and across the stove,
collecting heat and warmed air before gently propelling
into the room.
• For reliability and effective operation, ensure the fan
remains cooler than the base.
• Never lay the product flat on its back.
• Never place the fan directly in front of the flue pipe.
• Some stoves are too small or do not permit positioning
of a fan at the side – in these cases place the fan to the
right or left of the flue pipe but never in front. Placing
the fan in front of the flue pipe will cause the top of the
fan to run too hot, which will slow the fan speed and
cause premature failure to the motor and generator.
• The fan will start automatically when the surface
temperature under the fan reaches around 50°C (122°F).
• The speed of the fan increases as the temperature rises
to a maximum of around 250°C (480°F).
