14.2 Special check of the Safety Seat
Make sure that
• there are no signs of any damage to the harness straps, such as cuts, cracks, abrasion,
damage caused by heat, changes in colour etc.
• there are no signs of any damage to the seams
• all metal parts and welded joints are free of cracks, warping, burrs or any other damage
14.3 Special check of the hand winch Safety Winch
Make sure that
• the driving pulleys are clean and free from grease
• the driving pulleys do not show any signs of wear and tear
• the rope guides are not deformed and do not show any signs of damage
• all screws/bolts are tight
• the hand winch does not show any signs of cracks
• the clamp, base plate and crank are not bent
• the driving pulley can be turned freely and without any resistance
• the guide rollers can be turned freely and without any resistance
• the driving pulley can be moved longitudinally
• the slider of the clamp can be easily moved with the triangular handle
• the guide tongue springs in with just a little pressure and springs out again
of its own accord
15. Care and storage
Wipe metal and plastic parts with a damp, soft cloth only (no solvents, acids or alkaline
solutions). Harness straps and ropes can be cleaned with warm water (40°C) and a mild
soap solution. They should then be rinsed well using clear water.
Do not dry wet pieces of equipment in tumble-driers or over sources of heat, but hang them up in an airy
and shady place instead.
On no account should any equipment come into contact with chemicals, oil, solvents and
other aggressive substances or be exposed to UV radiation.
Equipment should be stored at room temperature, ideally in equipment bags or cases.
