Resistance Measurement

Do not connect the meter to a source of voltage or current when the
range selector is in an Ω position.
Failure to observe this warning may result in serious injury or death.
Disconnect the test leads from the component or circuit under test
before changing the position of the range selector.
Failure to observe these precautions may result in injury and damage
to this instrument.
1. Shut off and disconnect the power. Make sure all capacitors are discharged. Voltage must
not be present.
2. Plug the black test lead into the COM input terminal, and plug the red test lead into the
VΩBAT input terminal.
3. Set the range selector to the 200 Ω position.
4. Touch the test lead tips together. The meter should display "0". If the meter does not
display a "0", make a note of the reading.
5. Set range selector to the appropriate Ω range.
Note: If measuring an unknown resistance, set the range selector to the 20M range.
6. Touch the test leads to the circuit or component under test and read the display.
7. Subtract the value obtained in step 4 from the reading on the display to find the actual
resistance.
Note: If the resolution of the reading is not satisfactory, disconnect the meter from the circuit
or component and switch to the next lower range. Reconnect the meter to the circuit or
component and read the display. Repeat this procedure until the resolution is
satisfactory.
