Articles ST D•5•••• must be
connected to contactors with
forcibly guided output contacts,
as shown in the diagram provi-
ded. A sensor connected in this
way maintains the diagnostic
coverage DC = High.
Caution:
if
safety outputs are connected
directly to a safety contactor,
we recommend using
switching diodes connected in
parallel to the contactor coils.
Connections with Pizzato Elettrica expansion modules (e.g. CS ME-03••••)

5.9 Replacement of the actuator (for articles ST D•4••••, ST D•8•••• only)
Attention: The machine manufacturer must restrict access to the sensor pro-
gramming mode to authorised personnel only.
Via input I3 it is possible to replace the coded actuator with a second actuator at any
time. This operation can be repeated an unlimited number of times. After programming
has been completed, the sensor will recognise only the actuator code corresponding
all
OS
to the last executed programming operation.
1) Power the sensor at the rated voltage. The sensor carries out internal tests. The
fast
PWR LED lights up orange.
2) Activate the I3 programming input, by applying the voltage U
TECHNICAL DATA). The IN LED starts to flash orange to indicate the wait for the
new code to be memorised.
3) Move the new actuator towards the sensor, with the centring symbols aligned. The
IN LED remains on steady orange, the ACT LED emits four green flashes when
programming is complete.
4) After successful programming, the ACT LED turns off.
5) Disable the I3 programming input: the sensor restarts automatically and repeats the
internal tests (PWR LED on, orange) to switch to the "RUN" operating state (PWR
LED on, green).
The second actuator must be suitably fixed to the guard as described in paragraph
8/30
(only ST D•5•••• versions)
