12.2 Reclining backrest
• Position the plastic shell of the backrest as shown in (photo 24)

• Insert the aluminium spacer inside the guide on the back of the backrest and tighten
the screws as shown in (photo 25)

• Repeat this step for both sides of the backrest
• When all the screws (6) have been screwed into the relative holes, tighten completely
• Cover the screw heads with the plastic caps provided, as shown in (photo 26)

• Finish by securing the padding of the backrest in place with the Velcro strap
13. BATTERY & CHARGING
It is recommended to use sealed and maintenance-free deep cycle batteries for your
wheelchair. Both lead-acid batteries (SLA) and gel batteries are deep cycle batteries
and are similar in terms of performance. Deep cycle batteries are designed to supply
current and, once depleted, can be charged again relatively quickly.
Lead batteries must be charged as often as possible.
Specifications of the batteries we recommend:
• Type: sealed deep cycle or gel
• Size: 34AH(U1)
• Voltage: 12V each
• Amp-hours: 34
Depending on the conditions of use, the terrain and the manner of driving, the batteries
supply around 32 kilometres of travel. However, even if the wheelchair is not in use,
you should still charge the batteries periodically.
