Pumping conditions
Pressure and viscosity
All pressure values in this operating instruction, from which performance and life figures have been
l
calculated relate to peak pipeline pressures.
Although rated to 4 bar working pressure, this pump will generate in excess of 4 bar working
l
pressure if pipeline restrictions are in place. In instances where it is critical that a working pressure of 4
bar is not exceeded, pressure relief valves should be installed in the pipeline.
For the maximum pressure rating for this pumphead see section 10 "Operating parameters" on
l
page 19 . Users must ensure in the system design that these pressure limits cannot be exceeded.
This pumphead is only rated to 4 bar working pressure. Do not use tubing rating to higher
l
pressures as it will damage the rotor. When pumping duties of 2-4 bar, use Bioprene or Marprene
elements (denoted by "TM" in the product code) in this pumphead.
When pumping duties of 0- 2 bar pressure, use 0- 2 bar 'TL' elements or the standard range of
l
continuous peristaltic pump tubing.
Impulse loses and pulsation can be minimised by ensuring one metre of smooth bore linear tubing
l
is connected to the discharge port of the pumphead. This is especially important with viscous fluids
and rigid pipework. It is the users responsibility to ensure that the pipework is suitable for the ATEX
zone and application and that correct provision for dissipation of any electrostatic charge has been
included.
