If the saw blade jams or when sawing is
interrupted for another reason, release
the On/Off switch and hold the saw
motionless in the material until the saw
blade comes to a complete stop. Never
attempt to remove the saw out of the
workpiece or pull it back as long as the
saw blade is in motion or as long as kick-
back may occur. Find the cause of the saw
blade's binding and correct it through suitable
measures.
When restarting a saw in the workpiece,
centre the saw blade in the kerf and
check that the saw teeth are not engaged
in the workpiece. If the saw blade binds, the
saw may be forced out of the workpiece or kick-
back may occur when the saw is restarted.
Support large panels to minimise the risk
of saw blade pinching and kickback. Large
panels tend to sag under their own weight. Sup-
ports must be placed under the panel on both sides,
near the line of cut and near the edge of the panel.
Do not use dull or damaged saw blades.
Saw blades with dull or improperly set teeth pro-
duce narrow kerf causing increased friction, saw
blade binding and kickback.
Before sawing, tighten the locking levers
for the depth-of-cut and cutting-angle
adjustment. When the settings change during
sawing, the saw blade can jam and result in kick-
back.
Use extra caution when making a cut into
blind areas, such as an existing wall. The
immerging saw blade can become blocked when
sawing into concealed objects and cause kickback.
Function of the retracting blade
guard
Check the retracting blade guard for
proper closing each time before using the
saw. Do not use the saw if the retracting
blade guard does not move freely and
close immediately. Never clamp or tie the
retracting blade guard to the open posi-
tion. If the saw is accidentally dropped, the retract-
ing blade guard may be bent. Retract the blade
guard with the retracting lever and make sure that
it moves freely and does not touch the saw blade or
other parts in all cutting angles and depths of cut.
Check the function of the retracting blade
guard's spring. If the retracting blade
guard and spring do not operate prop-
erly, have the machine serviced before
use. The retracting blade guard may operate slug-
gishly due to damaged parts, gummy deposits or
the build-up of chips/saw dust.
Retract the blade guard manually only
for special cuts, such as "plunge cuts and
compound cuts". Retract the blade guard
by the retracting lever and release it as
soon as the saw blade has cut into the
material. For all other sawing, the retracting
blade guard must operated automatically.
Always observe that the retracting blade
guard covers the saw blade before plac-
ing down the saw on a bench or the floor.
An unprotected, coasting saw blade will move the
saw opposite from the cutting direction and cut
whatever is in its path. Observe the run-down dura-
tion of the saw.
Wear ear protectors. Exposure to noise can
cause hearing loss.
Do not open the battery. Danger of short-
circuiting.
Protect the battery against heat, e. g.,
against continuous intense sunlight, fire,
water, and moisture. Danger of explosion.
In case of damage and improper use of
the battery, vapours may be emitted.
Provide for fresh air and seek medical
help in case of complaints. The vapours can
irritate the respiratory system.
Use the battery only in conjunction with
your Würth power tool. This measure alone
protects the battery against dangerous overload.
Use only original Würth batteries with
the voltage listed on the nameplate of
your power tool. When using other batteries,
e. g. imitations, reconditioned batteries or other
brands, there is danger of injury as well as property
damage through exploding batteries.
Use only original Würth accessories.
