Mobile installation (Fig. 1)
Assemble the support frame (1) on the pump suction and the flanged curve (2) on the pump delivery by suitable fixing bolts. Place
the pump on a solid base to prevent it from tipping over or sinking, or suspend it with a chain attached to the handle or to eyebolts.
Check valves and gate valves must be applied on a rigid delivery pipe. Tubes and valves must be sized based on pump performance.
Fixed installation (Fig.2)
Fix the guide tubes anchoring bracket (1) to the edge of the tub,
place the coupling basement (2) on the bottom and check by a
plumb line that the conical protrusions for inserting the pipes are
perpendicular to the juts of the anchoring bracket.
Measure the length of the guide tubes by marking the position of
the slots on the basement, then fix it to the bottom of the tank and
connect the delivery pipe to the mouth. Remove the anchoring
bracket, insert the pipes (3) into the juts on the base and block
them at the edge of the tank reassembling the anchoring bracket.
Using a chain hooked to the handle, lift the pump, insert the guide
hook (4) between the two tubes and lower slowly. With a shackle,
secure the chain to anchorage bracket: the hook of the chain
should be in line with the center of gravity of the pump.
Spread cables along the tank to prevent them from being crushed
and folded, then hang them on the bracket.
Before starting the electric pump, carry out a final check on electrical equipement and relative settings.
Inspection personnel must be vaccinated against diseases that can be contracted due to wounds, contact, inhalation.
If it is necessary to inspect the tank, the personnel must efficiently ventilate the room so that there is adequate
oxygen. Ensure that there aren't toxic gases and that there is no risk of explosion before welding or using an electric
tool. Ensure the escape route for a quick return to the open environment.
Before intervening, make sure that pump is properly cleaned; observe all the necessary precautions for maximum
personal hygiene: waterproof apron, rubber gloves, safety goggles, mask. Follow the local provisions.
Use a helmet, a belt, a safety rope and, if necessary, a gas mask; avoid ignoring the danger of drowning. In any case,
never work alone.
Never put hands/tools into the pump suction opening: before any check, make sure that power supply is disconnected.
Before proceeding with with electrical connection, check that the impeller isn't blocked.
Before immersion, with a short impulse and in conditions of maximum safety, check that the direction of rotation of the
pump is the same as that indicated by the arrow on the top of the motor (clockwise if viewed from the motor side): if
the rotation direction is wrong, it is necessary to reverse two phases.
During the check, do not hold the pump by the handle: the recoil that occurs at start-up represents a danger to the
safety of the personnel in charge!
Pay attention to the risks from electrical faults. Check the efficiency of the grounding and the degree of insulation of the
motor before subjecting it to tests. When the motor is functioning, check that the current never exceeds the rating plate
data and that the supply voltage does not exceed 5% more than the nominal value.
It is essential to switch off the electric power before checking or maintenance operations, making sure that it can not
inadvertently be reconnected. Do not use the pump if the electric cable is damaged, even if with small cuts of the
outer sheath!
MONTHLY CONTROLS
Carefully check the condition of the cables and cable glands. Ensure that the end of cable is protected and not
submerged in the liquid, to avoid infiltration.
Check that the external parts (shackles, chains, handles, guide pipes) are intact, and that the screws and nuts are tight.
Confirm that pipes and valves have not leaks clogs. Check that the noise level of the bearings meets the optimal
conditions of the first start-up. Verify that the motor insulation is above 1 MΩ.
Check that the wear of the pump body, impeller, diffuser, ring and guide hook does not compromise the performance of
the machine. If the impeller is worn, it could have cutting edges and blades: pay attention and use special work gloves.
Check the oil in the sealed chamber for traces of liquid or emulsions.
