11.2.2 Settings
Before you can start the Mercedes- Process, different modifica-
tions of the setup have to be performed.
The modifications are already described in the Installation
Instructions 1 689 978 435N in chapter 4.13 (Mercedes
procedure).
There are also shown severeal options in the same chapter.
These options are not necessary for the functions of the pro-
cess, actually the handling and also the illustration will be
simplified.
11.2.3 Lift- level- check
By activating the lift- level- check in the setup, as from Mercedes
requested, the subsequent screen appears after few seconds.

At the first call of the lift- level- check the reference values must
be recorded for the next checking. Therefore push the button
. If there is a deviation of more than five minutes ( >5´)
between the actual and the recorded reference values for caster
and camber, it is necessary to check the lift including the sensor
heads (see also next chapter: head cross check).

lift- level- check indicates incorrect deviation. The procedure of
the head cross check is described in detail in the program.

As soon as the values of front toe and camber deviate more than
five minutes ( > 5'), the sensor heads must be calibrated again. In
that case, please push the calibration button
11.2.5 Selection of the process
In order to run the Mercedes- Process it is essential to select the
official databank. The access to the official databank can be
reached eather by modifications in the setup (see Installation
Instructions 1 689 978 435N in chapter 4.13) or by utilizing the
button (official databank) in the left menu bar. Using this
button is only necessary, if the modifications in the setup are not
yet performed.
Now it is necessary to use the second menu bar in order to choose
the brand Mercedes Benz. Once you have chosen the brand , the
display panel will show the expression "Mercedes Benz*".
Hint: If you are still applying the commercial databank, the display
panel will only show the expression "Mercedes Benz".
