• Luminaires with dimmable control units are divided into two categories, analogue
and digital.
Analogue dimming involves a remote control unit with built-in 1-10V DC control
gear and can be used to construct simple and economical adjustable systems.
The control units can run a maximum of 50 luminaires for a maximum distance of
50m. Under no circumstances can a combination of two or more regulating units
be used.
With digital dimming, in particular with the DALI system, a common interface
identical for a number of manufacturers is identified, allowing communication
between a control module and the HF control gears in a digital network with up
to 64 users.
Each individual HF control gear can be identified (addressed) and programmed
through the control module. In addition, each luminaire can be assigned to 16
freely definable groups, irrespective of its actual position, and can memorise up
to 16 different lighting values (scenarios). The control module may be as much as
300m away from the most distant luminaire if the cross section of the signal cable
is at least 1.5 mm

A dimmable luminaire can be connected to the mains power supply using a five
pole cable, in other words, with the control wires and power supply wires
together, providing NYM 5x1.5mm
When using dimmable luminaires, the following performance limits must be taken
into consideration:
Firstly, if the ambient temperature is less than 15°C, turning on of the lamps may
represent a problem, especially if the flux is regulated to minimum. In this case,
adjust the flux to maximum to facilitate turning on.
Secondly, during regulation, the flux and colour temperature of the lamp may vary.
They will stabilise within about 30-40 minutes. In particular, this effect may be
accentuated with amalgam lamps identified by "IN".

LUMINAIRE PREPARATION AND MOUNTING
Disconnect from the mains and follow the instructions given
below
The SUPERTECHNE family consists of ready-to-mount luminaires requiring the pre-
paration of holes of different diameters depending on the individual article selected
as specified on the product label
For external wiring follow the instructions given in the General Notes.
Remove the cover of the control gear;
luminaires are correctly earthed),
serving for this purpose.
If necessary, use the two-pole terminal board supplied.
LUMINAIRES FOR COMPACT FLUORESCENT LAMPS
In luminaires with HF control gear, two-lamp luminaires with 2x26W HPF control
gear and emergency luminaires, the control gear must be removed and placed at the
side at the maximum distance allowed by the electrical wiring. To do this, proceed
as follows:
unhook the retainer springs (on the cover of the luminaire);
ve the control gear;
position it at the side of the luminaire.
Important: When connecting independent control gears in cascade, "*a maximum of six
luminaires can be used", *when using the terminals of the control gears themselves.
