e. If the battery is new, before connecting the charger read the battery manufacturer's safety and operational instructions carefully. If
applicable, carefully and exactly follow acid filling instructions.
2) 12 Volt DC barrel connector from the 12Vdc FAN SUPPLY circuit, to the fan assembly through the accessory
port near the fan. (Under the base-mat on the Capsule models, & under the air intake hood on the outdoor
Capsule models).
3) AC supply cable to AC outlet. LED #5 and #1 confirm AC power to the FAN SUPPLY and BATTERY CHARGER
circuits. Verify that
a. fans are running normally.
b. charging circuit is operating correctly. Read section INTELLICHARGE BATTERY CHARGER below.
Always DISCONNECT in this order: 1) FAN assembly - 12VDC Fan Supply circuit 2) AC supply 3) Vehicle battery
(charging circuit).

When the Intellicharge appliance's power cable is connected to an AC mains supply socket and AC supply is present
(LED #1 ON): The 12VDC supply (LED #5) powers the 12VDC fan and the 12V automatic battery charger charge and
maintains the stored vehicle's battery.
In the event of AC mains supply failure the FAN SUPPLY circuit switches and uses the connected battery as an
auxiliary supply (LED #6), until the AC mains supply has been restored, or until the battery's voltage has reduced below
12.2V (approximately 50% charge level), after which the FAN SUPPLY will automatically turn off to prevent complete
discharge of the battery.
When AC supply is restored, 12VDC power for the FAN SUPPLY will once again be provided by the AC to DC converter
circuit and the charging circuit will again automatically recharge and maintain the battery.
Independent operation of FAN SUPPLY and BATTERY CHARGER : Even though the appliance is designed to operate a
FAN assembly and simultaneously charge & maintain the stored vehicle's battery, each circuit can operate
independently i.e. the FAN SUPPLY can power the fan with AC mains supply connected, without the BATTERY CHARGER
circuit connected to a 12V battery, AND, the BATTERY CHARGER can charge and maintain a battery without the FAN
SUPPLY connected to the Car Capsule fan assembly.
Charging a separate 12V battery (not that of the stored vehicle): The battery charger can be used to charge and
maintain a separate 12V battery whilst the fan assembly is powered by the FAN SUPPLY. In the event of AC power
supply failure the connected battery will become the auxiliary fan supply.
INTELLICHARGE BATTERY CHARGER:
For safety reasons, the Intellicharge charging circuit output will only activate if a battery retaining at least 2V is
connected.
