6.3.1
Manual Disinfection
• Place the video lens in a disinfectant solution. Observe the concentration and
insertion time recommended by the manufacturer. Make sure the entire video
lens is covered with the disinfecting solution.
• Rinse video lens under running water for at least 20 seconds. Make sure all dis-
infectant residues are removed.
• After disinfection, the video lens must be completely rinsed with sterile and
salt-free water until free of residue and then dried immediately.
NOTE!
The use of alcohol- or aldehyde-based cleaners or disinfectants is recommended
(such as Bacillol AF, Kohrsolin or Cidex). Do not use disinfectants based on sodi-
um percarbonate (such as Sekusept active) or any alkaline cleaners and disinfec-
tant.
6.3.2
Manual Drying
• Dry the video lens with a lint-free, sterile cloth or a surgical gauze pad.
• Areas hard to reach with a cloth or cavities can be dried with filtered com-
pressed air (the compressed air must be subjected to sterile filtering). Observe
the safety distance of 50 mm between the compressed air gun and the lens.
Perform a visual check on the video lens (chapter 5 "Visual Inspection and Func-
tion Testing"). Visible residue may not be left on the video lens after cleaning.
Should dirt be visible after the cleaning cycle, the cleaning operation must be re-
peated.

Reprocessing Validation
The reprocessing validation was carried out with the following materials and
equipment:
6.4.1
Manual reprocessing
• Cleaners: Enzol® 7.489 g/l (1oz/gallon)
6.4.2
Automated reprocessing
• Cleaners: Enzol® 7.489 g/l (1oz/gallon)
• Cleaning and disinfecting equipment: Reliance® Genfore™ washer/disinfector
(STERIS®)
Program:
1. Prewash (2 minutes) with cold tap water
2. Cleaning (6 minutes) with warm water and enzymatic cleaner
3. Rinsing (2 minutes) with 60 °C (140 °F) hot water
The following cleaning / disinfecting agents have been successfully tested for
material compatibility:
• Kohrsolin extra
• Bacillol AF
• Trichlorol
• Amocid
• Cidex OPA
• Neodisher MediZym
• Enzol
NOTE!
Comply with the concentration information and insertion times specified by the
manufacturers of the cleaners and disinfectants.
