3. Presentation

"DANGER":
If the operator(s) are required to work outside of the area of
protection, or the operator(s) must use Personal Protective
Equipment against falls from a height connected to anchorages
compliant with the BS EN 795 standard.
The Personal Protective Equipment used must be EC certified,
manufactured in accordance with Directive 89/686/EEC, and used
in accordance with Directive 89/656/EEC.

Tractel ® markets a range of PPE consistent with the application of
these directives.
An n EN361 body harness is the only body gripper that can be
used with a fall arrest system.
In all use cases it is imperative to consider the maximum drop
distance recommended by the manufacturer of the fall protection
used.
In accordance with European regulations, each of the associated
components marketed by Tractel
marking, following a CE type examination and has been monitored
throughout manufacturing.
These devices are suitable for use on site in the open air and at
a temperature range of between -35°C and +60°C.
3.1 Overview:
• Anchor posts are designed for installation on terraces on a
concrete or metal foundation.
The anchor posts Tractel
designed to accommodate a maximum of 2 users and have been
tested TS 16415-A/2013 compliant.
They are compliant with BS EN-795 A/2012 and TS 16415-
A/2013 Standards.
Each post comes complete with anchor ring, without fixings
(structural anchors).
• Anchor posts intended for lifelines are designed for installation
on terraces on a concrete or metal foundation.
The Tractel ® anchor posts that can be used with lifelines are
EN795-C/1996 compliant and have been designed to receive a
maximum of 5 travsafe, travspring or travsmart lifelines.

3.2 Regulations and standards applicable to
the product

equipment described in this manual,
• is identical to equipment having been the subject of a certificate
of conformity issued by Apave SUDEUROPE "CE0082", BP193,
13322 Marseilles, and tested in accordance with the BS EN 795-
A/2012 standard. Any company entrusting an installation or
personal protective equipment against falls from a height, to an
employee or member of staff must apply labour regulations.
Within the European Union, these devices must be checked
periodically in accordance with the 89/656/EEC Directive dated
30/11/89 (i.e. at least once a year, by Tractel
Tractel ® S.A.S. authorised repair company).

It is up to the installer to verify that the host structure meets the
requirements of the technical file.

3.3 Definition
"IMPORTANT":
The anchor post is an anchor point for receive personal protective
equipment fall arrest systems as defined in the EN 363 Standard.
It has been designed and tested for two users to secure the post
type BS -EN 795 A/2012 and TS 16415- A/2013 and 1 to 5 people
for posts compatible for use with as in anchor posts for lifelines
compliant with EN795-C/1996 (depending on the installation
and the compatibility of the lifeline installed on the anchor post).
It is made of galvanised steel or stainless steel.
It is intended to prevent any risk of operators falling. It is
installed vertically on terrace roofs, under canopies or
horizontally on walls.

connected to anchorages compliant with the EN 795 Standard.
The Personal Protective Equipment used must be EC certified,
manufactured in accordance with Directive 89/686/EEC, and
used in accordance with Directive 89/656/EEC.

3.4 Contents of the standard delivery
The customer's order serves as the basis for the preparation of
the delivery. The order must specify precisely the delivery address,
have been
the name of the contact on site, the delivery date, access
permissions, the unloading method, the number of parts required
for installation, the location of components on the terrace.
Upon receipt of the equipment the customer will check compliance
of the order based on the delivery slip and the equipment
unloaded.
"IMPORTANT":
A preliminary study carried out by a specialist technician,
especially concerning the resistance of roofing materials, is
essential before installing the anchor post.
This study should take into account local regulations,
standards and rules of standard good practice applicable, as
well as this manual. This manual must be delivered to the
technician or the design office of the installer responsible for
the preliminary study.
The installer should consider the risks to be covered during
installation depending on the layout of the site, and the activity
to protect against falls from a height.
In light of these risks, he should define the installation so as not to
damage the host structure.
The study should take into account, the presence of electrical
equipment in the proximity of the anchor post installation, so the
installer is protected against the risk of such equipment.
This preliminary study should be transcribed into a technical file
containing a copy of this manual, which will be handed back to the
installer with all the components necessary for its implementation.
The technical file must be achieved even if the study is performed
by the installer.
Any change in the configuration of the area covered will include a
review of the preliminary technical study.
Tractel ® is available to perform the preliminary studies necessary
for the installation of your anchor post, and can study any special
installation.
