Pressure Loading Valve
The CTR/LTR has two functional areas - flow meter and loading valve - both are housed in one aluminium block
Flow meter
All CTR/LTR flow meters work on the same basic theory - the fluid flow is used to rotate a turbine, the speed at which
the turbine rotates is proportional to the flow rate. This rotational speed is measured by a magnetic transducer counting
the axial turbine blades as they pass. The turbine blade is designed to minimise the effects of variations in temperature
and viscosity and built-in flow straighteners eliminate flow swirl and allow flow measurement in both directions.
Loading valve
All loading valves work on the same theory - a poppet is moved in and out of a flow port via a threaded shaft. The
unique design of the pressure-balanced poppet ensures low handle effort throughout the flow and pressure ranges in
addition to excellent tactile feedback, regardless of flow direction. In the event of overpressure, replaceable safety discs
(situated within the poppet) rupture, to internally bypass the oil at low pressure. Safety discs with different pressure
ranges up to 480 bar (7000 psi) are available.
