3. TRANSPORT, HANDLING AND INTERMEDIATE STORAGE

3.1 RECEIVING THE PRODUCT

When receiving the product, it is necessary to verify that:

It has not been damaged during transport. In case of damage, even if only external, write a reserve note on the transport documents
and notify the carrier.
The supply corresponds to the order: in case of deficiencies, write a reserve note on the transport documents and notify the carrier.

3.2 HANDLING (Fig.2)
The motors must be lifted by means of a suitable lifting device.
Use the eyebolts or anchors provided on motor frame. The eyebolts and anchors are sized to support only the weight of the motor.

ATTENTION!
It is forbidden to use the motor in case of damages or anomalous operations.
Tampering with the product is prohibited.
The user is responsible for dangers or accidents in relation to other persons and their property: it must be
taken all the necessary precautions to avoid risks or consequent damages to the inadequate or inefficient
operation of the product.
Use the motors only for the purposes described in Paragraph 4. Any other use can be a cause of accidents.
Check that the product complies with the local regulations in force.
Install the motor out of the reach of children
Before executing any operation, the feeder cables shall be disconnected.
Never touch the motor while it is working.
Use the motor only when in perfect condition and correctly assembled.
Must also be applied to the relevant National and Local Regulations in force regarding safety, during
transport, installation, electric connection, installation, operation and eventual maintenance or demounting.
For US market: For each product related activity follow all the electrical and safety codes, as well as the most
recent United States National Electrical Code (NEC) and the Occupational Safety and Healt Act (OSHA)
Use, during all operations, the necessary personal protective equipment:

Protective goggles

Protective gloves for mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical hazards

Helmet
-
Safety shoes
Ensure minimum air flow for motor cooling.
In closed environments, ensure sufficient air exchange to keep the ambient temperature within the operating
limits of the motor.
The motors can operate properly with no problems only if the installation is correct and the required
maintenance is guaranteed. Carefully follow the instructions of this manual.
Use suitable means for liftings and transporting the motors: they may be damaged if it is knocked or if it falls,
even if there is no apparent external damage, and it may also damage things or persons.
Use ropes, straps or chains suitable for the purpose: for the weights of the motor or of the individual
components refer to the drawings and technical documentation submitted. If necessary, contact the technical
support service.
Do not use the eyebolts of the motor to lift or transport it together with the driven equipment, the support
base or other components. The eyebolts and anchors are sized to support only the weight of the motor.
The center of gravity of the motor is usually located in the center or slightly shifted in the direction of one of
the two shaft-ends.
