OPERATION
CAUTION:
Always insert the battery cartridge
all the way until it locks in place. I f y o u c a n s e e t h e
red indicator on the upper side of the button, it is not
l o c k e d c o m p l e t e l y . I n s e r t i t f u l l y u n t i l t h e r e d i n d i c a t o r
cannot be seen. If not, it may accidentally fall out of the
tool, causing injury to you or someone around you.
CAUTION:
Always hold the handle. Never
hold the tool body or guards. H a n d s m a y s l i p f r o m
these locations and contact with the band saw blade.
It may result in personal injury.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the wheel cover is
closed securely.
CAUTION:
Make sure to hold the tool rmly with
both hands when turning on or o the tool or when cut-
ting. Otherwise the tool may fall and cause personal injury.
CAUTION:
Always wear gloves to protect your
hands from hot ying chips when cutting metal.
CAUTION:
Keep your body and face away
from the band saw blade and ying chips.
For stable cut, always keep at least two teeth in the cut.

NOTICE:
Applying excessive pressure to the
tool or twisting of the band saw blade may cause
bevel cutting or damage to the blade.
NOTICE:
When not using the tool for a long period
of time, remove the band saw blade from the tool.
NOTICE:
If the tool is operated continuously
until the battery cartridge has discharged, allow
the tool to rest for

excessive amount of wax to the band saw blade. It
may cause the blade to slip or come o unexpectedly.

When cutting cast iron, do not use
any cutting wax.

MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is
switched o and the battery cartridge is removed
before attempting to perform inspection or
maintenance.
NOTICE:
Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,
alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or
cracks may result.
To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY,
repairs, any other maintenance or adjustment should
be performed by Makita Authorized or Factory Service

Cleaning
CAUTION:
Wax and chips on the rubber tires
on the wheel may cause the band saw blade to
slip and come o unexpectedly. Use a dry cloth to
remove wax and chips from the rubber tires.
After use, remove wax, chips and dust from the tool,
rubber tires on the wheel and the band saw blade.
Replacing rubber tires on the
wheels
Replace the rubber tires when the band saw blade slips
or does not track properly because of badly worn tires.
To replace the rubber tire, ask for the Makita Authorized
o r F a c t o r y S e r v i c e C e n t e r s .
