Notes:
- The easiest way to turn the clamping screw (5) is when the slider (4) is at the end stop and the
clamping screw protrudes beyond the focusing stage.
- The quick release plate (10) is a square and can also be secured in the dovetail clamp (2) when
turned by 90°.
Check that all connections are secure.
For particularly precise adjustment, the fine adjustment handle (12) supplied can be pushed onto
the setting screw (6) (fig. B). If the fine adjustment handle is too loose, the clamping effect can be
readjusted with the screw (13) using the Allen key included.
Note: Two 5535 Focusing Stages can be assembled to form a cross slide system (fig. C) by fixing
the upper focusing stage into the dovetail clamp (2) of the lower focusing stage.
5. Operation
Loosen the locking screw (3).
Move the slider (4) to the desired position by turning the setting screw (6) or the fine adjustment
handle (12). For one complete turn, the adjustment travel is 15 mm (0.6 in.). One graduation mark
on the scale of the fine adjustment handle represents an adjustment travel of 1/4 mm.
Secure (if necessary) the position of the slider (4) by tightening the locking screw (3).
The scale (1) enables reproduceable settings.
6. Maintenance and care
The focusing stage is maintenance-free.
Do not use grease for lubrication! Make sure that the gear rack (9) is always free of sand and
dirt. Remove such dirt before use.
Clean the focusing stage with a soft, dry cloth. Never use gasoline or other solvents.
