Application ranges
The sera XS-Feeder must exclusively be used indoors for
delivering and supplying dry food with a grain size between
0.5 – approximately 2.5 mm at room temperature to aquarium/
terrarium inhabitants via the aquarium water.
Sharp edged morsels must not get into the food container.

Operation
Two AA size alkaline batteries (not included) are required for
operating the automatic feeder. First, pull the pedestal (13) off
the automatic feeder. Then open the battery compartment lid
(2) and put the batteries in correctly and according to the
markings.
Note: Please do not use rechargeable batteries; do not mix
old and new batteries.
Activating time registration
Time registration of the sera XS-Feeder is activated upon
inserting the batteries. If the feeding time adjustor (11) is
moved after inserting the batteries, the last adjustor movement
time is considered the new registration starting time.
Setting the feeding time
You can choose from the programs 1X and 2X by pushing the
feeding time adjustor (11) in the corresponding position:
The symbol "1X" stands for feeding once daily.
The first automatic feeding takes place 24 hours upon after
the time registration start, afterwards feeding takes place every
24 hours.
The symbol "2X" stands for feeding twice daily, which takes
place with a time span of 5 hours in-between. This means that
the first automatic feeding takes place 5 hours after the time
registration start on the same day, and the second automatic

feeding at the same time as time registration activation (for
instance by moving the adjustor) on the following day.
Example: Feeding is supposed to take place daily at 3 p.m.
and 8 p.m. Activate time registration at 3 p.m. by inserting the
batteries or moving the feeding time adjustor. Food will be
delivered automatically the first time at 8 p.m., the second and

third feeding will take place at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the next
day, and so on.
In case of specific feeding desire, the time registration of the
automatic feeder is activated always at the earlier feeding time

of the day.
Changing present time settings
You can change the feeding time by inserting the batteries
anew or move the feeding time adjustor (11).
You can optionally switch between 1X and 2X programs by
moving the feeding time adjustor (11) to the corresponding
position.
Adjusting the food amount

You can finely adjust the portion delivered for every feeding
(rotation) by moving the food amount adjustor (6a + 6b).
Please use the test function of the "M button" (10) (see
following section for details) after every adjustment as to
ensure the adjusted food amount actually is as desired by you.
Manual feeding
Press the "M button" (10) briefly if you wish to feed manually.
The feeding process will be triggered.
This function allows checking the correct supply amount
before using the appliance. For testing, it is advisable to use
a white paper sheet as a mat onto which the food is supposed
to fall.
Do not interfere by pressing further keys or adjustors, or by
removing the batteries while feeding is activated.
Manual feeding has no influence on the automatic program.
Time registration in the sera XS-Feeder will neither be stopped
nor started again by doing so.
