Back-up UPS with short circuits and surge protections
GC1000L / GC1250LS / GC1500LS

:: INSTALLATION
Do not install the Back-up UPS:
• Direct sunlight;
• Excessive ambient temperature;
• Excessive ambient humidity;
• In contact with any fl uids (fi g.1)
Install the back-up UPS on a solid and fl at surface at 50 cm
(19.7") far from computer monitor (fi g. 2).
Install the back-up UPS on its feet (fi g. 3).
Plug the back-up UPS into a wall outlet without any adaptors,
extensions, etc. (fi g. 4).
NOTE: The back-up UPS charges the internal battery any time it
is connected to a wall outlet and the main button is on.

:: CONNECT EQUIPMENTS
Before connect the equipments to the back-up UPS switch it
off (all the LED's indicator in the front panel have to be off ).
Refer to paragraph 5 "Switch off the back-up UPS".
The rear panel of the back-up UPS consists of the following
elements: (fi g. 5):
Battery back-up outlets. These outlets provide battery back-
up, surge protection and the EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interfe-
rence) fi ltering. Connect computer, monitor, external CD-ROM
drive or external disks to these outlets.
Surge only outlet. This outlet provides only the surge protec-
tion and the EMI fi ltering. It is ON only if the back-up UPS is in
"ON LINE" status.
For no reason the total power of the connected
equipment can be greater than the back-up UPS
power.

:: CONNECT THE DATA LINE (only for the predisposed models)
The RJ45 ports provide surge protection for any device
connected to the data line (fi g. 6).

:: SWITCH ON THE BACK-UP UPS
Before use the back-up UPS, plug it into a wall outlet
for 8 hours at least to charge fully the battery.
After a complete battery charge it is possible to switch on the
back-up UPS. Press the front panel Power ON/OFF switch. The
green LED indicator will be lit (fi g. 7).
If the red LED indicator is lit, the back-up UPS has broken down.
Please contact the SBS Customer Service Department. If the yel-
low LED indicator is lit the power supply is absent. Please check
the correct connection between the plug and the wall outlet;
check also the wall outlet functionality. If all the LED indicators
are unlit contact the SBS Customer Service Department.

:: SWITCH OFF THE BACK-UP UPS
Press the front panel Power ON/OFF switch. All the LED indica-
tor will be unlit (fi g. 7).

:: SOFTWARE INSTALLATION (only for models with USB)
This software allows the data saving and the correct computer
shut-down in case of long power cut.
Connect the USB cable to the UPS and to the computer
(fi g. 8).
Insert the self-installing CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
Follow the on-screen instructions. You can also contact the
SBS Customer Service Department.

:: STATUS INDICATOR AND ALARMS
There are three LED indicators on the front panel:
ON line (green LED). It indicates the back-up UPS is
linked to the mains and it supply its rear outlets.
Battery (yellow LED). It indicates the back-up UPS sup-
ply its rear outlets from the battery (power failure). This
status is also announced by a resonant alarm (BEEP).
