7.3 Intended use
This appliance is designed for toasting
slices of bread and rolls using the roll
attachment. It is only suitable for food.
Any other use or modification is
considered improper and involves a
considerable risk of accidents. The
manufacturer accepts no liability for
damage resulting from improper use.
Not for commercial use.
8 Using for the first time
CAUTION
To remove the protective layer on the
heating coil, you should operate the
appliance approx. 3 times without
contents.
To do this, select the highest browning
level.
Have defective mains power cable
replaced only by the manufacturer, our
customer service department or a
similarly qualified person with an
equivalent cable.
CAUTION
Do not immerse this appliance in water
when cleaning. Follow the instructions
given in the "Cleaning and maintenance"
section.
NOTE:
Slight smoke and odour development is
normal during this process.
Ensure sufficient ventilation.
Unwind the required mains power cable
from the base section.
The device is not intended for operation
with an external timer or a separate
remote control system.
The bread may burn, therefore do not
use the toaster near or below
combustible material, such as curtains.
Electrical connection
Check that the mains voltage you want
to use matches that of the appliance.
You will find the information on this on
the type plate.

Operation
1. Only connect the appliance to a
properly installed grounded plug
socket.
2. Adjust the browning level on the
browning control as desired from
the lightest level 1 to the darkest
level 6. If in doubt, start with a
smaller setting.
3. Insert bread slice(s) into the
bread slot and pull down the
carriage with the bread ejector
controller until it locks into place.
4. The appliance starts to toast.
When the set browning level is
reached, the appliance switches
off automatically.
Using the appliance
WARNING
There is a risk of burns when removing
smaller slices of bread!
To use the desired special functions,
press the respective button after
pressing down the bread ejector
controller.
Defrosting
For defrosting and subsequent toasting
of frozen bread.
Heating
For reheating bread that has already
been toasted.
Stop / clear
For premature termination of the
toasting process.

Reheating or defrosting:
The associated control light shows the
function.
