Warnings
• T he QCMSX sensor is installed on the bottom bar of the awning,
either in the middle or at the ends. At the ends wind detection is
more sensitive.
1. Installation
1. Install the mounting plate
2. Install the batteries. Make sure the green LED lights up for 5 seconds.
ATTENTION: do not use rechargeable batteries
NOTE: Ensure that the orientation is correct using the " UP" identification
on the mounting plate.
ATTENTION: disconnect power to the motor during the installation/
disintallation/setting of the QCMSX sensor

3. Reassembling
1. Press and release the programming button: the motion sensor is disabled
for 90 seconds, green LED flashes.
2. Reassemble the sensor housing on the mounting plate by the 2 screws
CAUTION: When setting a new sensitivy threshold, disconnect the power to
the motor before disassembling the sensor housing and re-connect it only
when re-assembled.

5. Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
Red light blinks for 5 seconds when
batteries are inserted
Motor is not responding
Awning extends only byforcing the
opening in dead-man control
Awning retracts every 23 minutes
under no wind
Awning constantly retracts during operation
Awning does not react to wind setting
Sensor causes awning to extend
instead of retract

CAUSE
Batteries are discharged
Radio interference / Shielding
transmitter is too far from the motor
Power failure
Incorrect wiring
Pairing error
Batteries are discharged
Wind threshold = 0
Batteries are discharged
Sensitivity set too high
Wind Sensitivity is too low
Duration of wind intensity level is less
than 6 seconds
Original pairing process transmitter/
motor was wrong
• T he QCMSX sensor must never be enclosed in the bottom bar
• T he QCMSX sensor must be installed within 20 mt from the motor
• T he QCMSX only works when the sensor is secured to the
mounting plate and the pairing process is complete.
2. Pairing QCMSX
1. Press and hold Prog-TX button of the primary transmitter until the motor
starts moving.
2. Release the Prog-TX button and within 5 seconds press and hold the
programming button on the QCMSX. The motion sensor is paired.
NOTE: To check the correct pairing press and hold the programming button
until the motor moves the awning, then stop it by using the STOP button on
the transmitter.

4. Test
ATTENTION: After reassembling the sensor, wait for 1 minute before testing
the sensitivity threshold.
At this stage the motion sensor is in "Test Mode": by pushing up and down
on the front bar or arm for at least 6 seconds the awning begins to retract.
You are allowed to stop, extend and test the awning again 4 times without any
restrictions.
From the 5th test the sensor goes into "regular mode" and any movement
over the wind threshold retracts the awning inhibiting any command from the
transmitter for 15 minutes "wind safety status".
ATTENTION: Wait always 30 seconds between
one test and the next one.
NOTE: any time you set a different
sensitivity threshold on the Dial,
the sensor allows you 4 more trials
to test the awning without any
restrictions.
REMEDY
Replace batteries (do not use rechargeable batteries)
Ensure transmitter is positioned away from metal objects and that antenna on
motor or receiver is kept straight and away from metal.
Move transmitter to a closer position.
Check power supply to motor is connected and active.
Check wiring is connected correctly (refer to motor installation instructions)
Press and hold the Prog button on the motion sensor to verify motor reacts
Replace batteries (do not use rechargeable batteries)
Move wind threshold from 0
Replace batteries (do not use rechargeable batteries)
Reduce sensitivity (increase wind threshold)
Adjust sensitivity (reduce wind threshold)
Wind gust durations must be over 6 seconds to trigger.
Reverse direction by pressing and holding Prog-TX on the transmitter until the
motor jogs then press STOP button.
