Master Level Control and VCA Foot Control
The overall level of the amplifier is set using the MASTER LEVEL control. This works in conjunction with the VCA FOOT CONTROL
facility on the TEK300 as described below.
The stereo output level from the TEK300 is controlled internally using VCA's ( Voltage Control Amplifiers) this has been done to allow
remote control of the stereo output with a single swell pedal. In other words a single swell pedal correctly connected can act as
volume control for the entire keyboard set-up being used with the TEK300.
Below the MASTER LEVEL control is a control marked VCA FOOT CONTROL MINIMUM LEVEL and once a swell pedal has been
connected this control can be used to set the volume of the TEK300 when the swell pedal is in its minimum or back position. This
makes it possible to adjust either end of the sell pedal range, the minimum level with the control just mentioned and the maximum
level with the MASTER LEVEL control. It is even possible to set the swell pedal to operate in reverse with the use of these two
controls if you would prefer it.
The diagram below shows the connection of either the TRACE ELLIOT swell pedal (available as an optional extra) which requires just
a single stereo jack cable or any standard swell pedal using a stereo jack to two mono jack cables. This diagram is also reproduced
on the back panel of the TEK300.

BACK PANEL FACILITIES
Stereo Balanced DI
There are 2 x XLR sockets on the back panel of the unit providing the STEREO BALANCED DI for direct injection of the preamp mixed
keyboard signals into 2 mic channels of a PA mixing desk.
Associated with these sockets is a push switch for selecting the point in the preamp that this signal is taken from. With this switch in
its OUT position the stereo DI signal is taken from before the graphic and before the output level control (and swell pedal) but
includes the external effects section. With the switch in its IN position the signal is taken from after the graphic and output level
control and the effects and the swell pedal.
Mains Input and Power Switch
Also on the back panel is the mains inlet socket (with built in fuse holder) and the power switch for turning the TEK300 on and off.
With the correct mains supply voltage connected to the mains inlet socket the TEK300 may be turned on using the POWER switch. An
LED on the front panel illuminates to indicate when the TEK300 is powered up.
