The Sterilizer Calibration Device is a portable, fully automatic precision instrument for the calibration of all W&H sterilizers.
Operating principle
The Sterilizer Calibration Device incorporates a high precision pressure sensor and a suitable programmed electronics.
A connection tube from the calibration device to the sterilization chamber of the sterilizer permits continuous, precision pressure reading.
A data communication line also connects the calibration device to the sterilizer. The pressure reading from the calibrator is processed and compared to
those read by the sterilizer itself, and suitable correction factors are calculated and stored in the internal memory of the sterilizer.
Thus, the sensors installed in the sterilizer are adjusted to the precision required by the sterilization process. This way, the calibration is absolutely
error-free, because there is no human intervention in the calibration, all the steps (data reading and comparison, calculation and storage of the
correction factors into the sterilizer) being managed by the software in a fully automatic way.
The device calibrates not only the pressure, since also the temperature measurement of the sterilizer, even though it is not fitted with a
temperature sensor. This is possible thanks to the saturated steam conditions that are reached in the sterilization chamber. In these
conditions, there is a strict physical relationsihp between pressure and temperature, and this relationsihp is used by the sterilizer to
calculate the internal temperature from the pressure reading.
Cycle data saving
The calibration device is fitted with a memory card. The data of all cycles are registered in a log file on the memory card, for further analysis, if needed.
NOTE FOR LINA MB: For data recording, set the sterilizer to the SERVICE PLUS mode.
NOTE FOR LISA MB: If the sterilizer is fitted with software chip 1.20 or older, only the calibration cycles are saved.
During calibration, the date and time settings of the sterilizer are adjusted to those set in the device.
Check and, if necessary, readjust the date and time after calibration.
