Maintenance
Replacing the battery
IMPORTANT: Dispose of the battery in accordance
with local, state, and federal regulations.
NOTE: Use one 14430 Lithium Phosphate, 300mAh,
3.2V rechargeable battery. For best performance,
replace with a new Lithium Phosphate rechargeable
battery every 2 years.
Loosen the four lock screws (E), and remove the back plate (F) from the controller body (A).
Remove the old battery (D). Replace with a new 14430 Lithium Phosphate, 3.2V rechargeable battery. The
recommended replacement battery capacity should be 300mAh to 450mAh.
Replace the back plate (F) to the controller body (A) with the four lock screws (E).
Put the transformer in either "TEST" or "ON" mode and reprogram the controller. See "2 Setting the controller"
on page 5.
Care and Cleaning
The motion sensor lens and photocell eye should be cleaned periodically with a damp cloth to help maintain optimum
performance.
Do not use any cleaners with chemicals, solvents, or harsh abrasives.
From time to time, ensure the connection between the quick clip connector of the controller and the low voltage cable
establishes effective contact.

Solution
Set the controller to AUTO or TIME mode.
Replace with a new battery.
Make sure the charging connection between the
quick clip connector and the low voltage cable
establishes effective contact to charge the battery.
Reposition the controller so that the photocell eye
gets enough light level at daytime.
Ensure the plug between the controller and the
transformer is securely connected.
The bi-pin connector is polarized, make sure it is
inserted into the mating socket of the transformer
in the correct way.
Reposition the controller, avoid the photocell eye
pointing at nighttime light sources such as
windows, porch lights, and street lights.
Reposition the controller so that the motion sensor
is positioned away from the area of movement.
Put the transformer in either "TEST" or "ON" mode
before you reprogram the controller.
