6. Steam ironing
1. Fill the iron as described in the section "how to fill the water tank".
2. Plug the iron into the mains.
3. Steam ironing is only possible when the highest temperatures shown on
the temperature control are selected. Otherwise, water may escape through
the soleplate.
4. Wait until the pilot light goes out, which indicates that the selected tempe-
rature has been reached.
5. Turn the steam button to the required position.
6. When the ironing is finished and during breaks in ironing, place the iron in
its upright position.
7. Disconnect the iron from the mains supply. Pour of any remaining water
and leave the iron to cool off.
7. Shot of steam
The feature may be used during ironing but only when the iron is at its highest
settings.
1. Press the shot of steam button to release a powerful surge of steam. You may
need to press the button a few times to prime the surge steam.
2. Wait a few seconds for the steam to penetrate the fabric before pressing the
button again.
NOTE: Escessive use of this feature will cause the iron to cool, and the tempe-
rature indicator will iluminate. Water will drip from the soleplate. If this happens,
wait for the temperature indicator to go out before using this features again.
8. Hints and tips
The water tank may be empty. Turn the Steam Control to "0" and add water
as describe previosly. Allow the iron to heat up heat up and then set the
Steam Control to the desired steam setting.
Burst of steam feature does not work
The water tank nust ve st least 1/4 full. Temperature Control must be set to
steam position. Iron should be in the horizontal position. Press the shot of
