In commercial facilities the accident preven-
■
tion regulations (in Germany issued by the
commercial trade association for the safety
of electrical systems and equipment) must be
observed.
The device may only be used by
■
persons who have received appro-
priate training. Users must be aware of
the particular hazards arising in an industrial
environment during voltage testing. The neces-
sary safety precautions and the methods for
checking the correct functioning of the device
before and after each use must be known.
Do not use the device when under the influ-
■
ence of alcohol, drugs or medicines.
Hold the device solely by gripping the handles
■
below the physical marking. Avoid touching
the test probes.
Always check for absence of voltage at both
■
terminals!
Do not use the device in damp conditions.
■
Do not use with the battery compartment
■
open! Remove the test probes from the testing
circuit when changing the battery.
Proper display is assured in the temperature
■
range -15°C to 45°C.
The additionally displayed warning symbol
■
and vibration at voltages greater than
approximately 45 V/AC and 110 V/DC are
intended solely as a warning of life-threat-
ening voltages, not for testing purposes.
Change the batteries immediately, if the
■
device switches off shortly after switching on
or directly during switching on.

Safety instructions
In order to protect the device from damage,
■
remove the batteries if the device will not be
used for a prolonged interval.
Do not use the device's displayed signals,
■
including the ELV limit value, for measurement
purposes.
If a voltage tester has relatively low imped-
■
ance in comparison with the reference value
of 100 kΩ not all interference voltages with
an original value greater than the values for
ELVs (extra low voltages) will be indicated.
Upon contact with the system parts to be
tested, the voltage tester can temporarily
lower the interference voltages by discharging
to a level below ELV. If you remove the voltage
tester, the interference voltage will again
adopt its original value.
If a voltage tester has relatively high internal
■
impedance in comparison with the reference
value of 100 kΩ it is not certain that the
tester will display the indication "Operating
voltage not present" if an interference voltage
is present.
If the indication "Voltage present" is not
■
displayed, insert the earthing device, before
starting work.
If the indication "Voltage present" appears
■
with a test part that is disconnected from the
system, use additional measures to check the
status "Operating voltage not present" for
the system part under test. Check whether
the voltage indicated by the voltage tester
is an interference voltage. As an additional
measure you can for example use a suitable
voltage tester or perform a visual check of the
disconnection point in the electrical network.
Use only genuine Würth accessories
■
and spare parts.
