RADIO EDGE DEVICE (RED) is an EN 13849-1:2015 Standard-compliant device and it's
a PL "c" Category 2 safety system if connected to a RIB control board equipped
with AUTOTEST.
RED allows to build a safety system made with one or more safety strips fixed to
the moving leaf/shutter without having to use cable-reel.
It consists in a radio communication based on a 868.3MHz RIB protocol.
The safety strips connections, their working status and the RED battery charge level
are checked constantly.
RED can manage Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC) contact of safety strip,
therefore select it with jumper JP1.
Each RED has its own internal identification code that distinguishes it from the
others.

LEGISLATION ANS REGULATION ON AUTOMATIC GATES AND DOORS
The technician must ensure that RED is managed as explained in the EN12453
Standard at section 5.1.2 by a control board able to run a self test before the gate/
door shuts (AUTOTEST).
Use RIB actuators, RIB electronic boards equipped with AUTOTEST feature and RIB
safeties, in order to perform installation in compliance with the Legislation and
Regulation in force.
Once installation is complete, the operator must ensure the machine is EN13241-1-
compliant.
RIB shall not be held liable for any damages caused by misuse or wrongful or
unreasonable use of the product.
