5.3 Installation
The smoke detectors should be installed on the ceiling or on the wall. Since this is a
single smoke detector, it cannot be connected to other detectors.
Caution! Do not connect the smoke detectors to other alarms or auxiliary devices.
If you connect anything else to this detector, it may not work properly.
First read the previous sections in this user manual and then decide where you
want to install a detector.
1.
At the spot where you want to install the detector, draw a horizontal line 6
inches (about 15.24cm) in length.
2.
Remove the mounting bracket from your device by turning it counter-clock-
wise.
3.
Position the bracket so that the two longest slots are aligned with the line.
Make a mark in each of the keyhole slots to position a mounting plug and
screw.
4.
Remove the bracket.
5.
Drill two holes with a 5 mm (3/16 inch) drill at the marks and insert plastic
dowels. Make sure that the detector is not contaminated with plaster dust
when drilling holes for mounting.
6.
Fix the bracket to the wall using the two screws and plastic dowels (included
in the supply).
7.
Align the slots of the brackets and that of the detector. Slide the detector
onto the mounting bracket and turn it clockwise to fix it into place. Pull the
detector to ensure that it is securely fixed to the bracket.
