SELF-CLEANING FEATURE
You should use the self-cleaning feature to maintain optimal performance of
your iron. Self-cleaning feature will clean water reservoir and steam vents of
accumulated minerals, dust and lint.
1. Move steam control back and forth several times to remove debris and minerals
from steam valve. This keeps water flowing into steam chamber.
2. Fill water reservoir with tap water to "MAX" line.
3. Plug in iron and move temperature control dial (Models GCSTCM2001 &
GCSTCM2002)/temperature control up and down buttons (Model GCSTCM2003)
to the "
" position, and allow iron to heat for two minutes.
4. Unplug iron.
5. Hold iron over a sink in a horizontal position.
WARNING: Be careful not to touch iron's hot surfaces.
6. Press the self-clean button and hold. Water will begin dripping from steam vents.
Slowly rock iron side-to-side and front to back for 30 seconds. When rocking iron,
dip nose of iron slightly below rear to make certain water circulates completely.
7. Turn iron upside down and allow remaining water to flow out of the fill hole.
8. Dry the soleplate with a towel.
9. Plug in iron and turn temperature control dial (Models GCSTCM2001 &
GCSTCM2002)/temperature control up and down buttons (Model GCSTCM2003)
to the "
" position. Let iron heat for two minutes and dry out iron completely.
