2.5 Personnel qualifications
Only personnel qualified for the tasks at hand are allowed to perform the activi-
ties described in this documentation. Depending on the activity, this requires ba-
sic knowledge in the following areas and knowledge of the relevant technical
concepts:
• Mechanics
• Pneumatics
The following specific qualifications are additionally required:
• Knowledge of the use and maintenance of ATEX products
2.6 Hazards
2.6.1 Danger of explosion due to formation of sparks
Formation of sparks due to mechanical loads
Mechanical loads lead to the formation of sparks and present an explosion haz-
ard.
• Never twist or bend the product and add-on parts, or mount them when they
are under tension.
Friction sparks due to circumferential speeds greater than 1 m/s
Some piston rod attachments and mounting elements allow oscillating rotary
movements and swiveling movements of the product. The use of these elements
as radial plain bearings with circumferential speeds greater than 1 m/s leads to
impermissible heating. If the heating is too high, friction sparks are generated,
which represent an explosion hazard.
• Ensure that circumferential speeds on the friction surfaces do not exceed 1 m/
s.
2.6.2 Danger of injury
Trip hazard due to improperly laid cables and lines
• Lay the cables and lines so that no one can trip over them.
Falling useful load in vertical mounting orientation
When the product is in a vertical mounting orientation, a suspended load may fall
when the compressed air supply is shut off.
• Always secure the access area under a suspended load.
Risk of burns due to hot surfaces
• Do not touch the product or any connected parts during operation (accident
prevention).
• Allow the product to cool down before carrying out any work.
2.6.3 Material damage
Damage due to too high mechanical loads
• Never twist or bend the product and add-on parts, or mount them when they
are under tension.
• Avoid mechanical stress when connecting the hoses.
• Do not use the product as a handle or step.
• Do not position any objects on the product.
3 Scope of delivery
• 1x Assembly instructions
• 1x Cylinder (see: order)
If you have configured your product with optional elements, these elements
are already assembled on the product.
• Optional: fastening elements
• 1x declaration of conformity
